Preliminary Design

We begin the process by listening to our clients and exploring the possibilities of the

project direction. Our next step is to work on a layout that achieves the desired result. We meet with our clients throughout this process to ensure that they are actively involved with the development of the project.

Existing Conditions

If your project is an addition or renovation, we start by coming out to the property to measure and photograph the existing conditions. We then use the measurements and photographs to generate as built plans utilizing CAD.

Construction Documents

Once the preliminary design is completed and approved by the client, we move forward with preparing the construction documents. Our construction documents provide complete details of everything from the foundation to the roof, including framing plans, all of which carefully depict how the contractor is to construct the residence.

Interior Design

As an additional service, we can work with you to help in creating a unique interior design for your new residence.

Many of our projects are waterfront properties which invoke special construction requirements of the Massachusetts State Building Code and FEMA (The Federal Emergency Management Agency). These special construction requirements include flow through foundation designs for classified A flood zones and pier/piling foundation designs for classified V velocity zones. These systems can sometimes be overwhelming from an aesthetic point of view, therefore we use careful planning and specific design techniques to minimize the effect these requirements have on the overall character and appearance of the finished home.

RESCOM uses consultants for all engineering aspects of a project. We maintain close control of all work performed by our consultants to ensure that their work meets the high standards demanded by both RESCOM and our customers.
